Black in Nature Inc. is a Non-Profit Organization (#1000421300) aiming to get Black children outside year-round, in all weather! We focus on fostering a reciprocal relationship between Black children, the land, others and with themselves. It’s a place where children are at the helm of their own learning, as we focus on a play-based, emergent curriculum and inquiry-based learning models. Children are free to explore through play as they create and learn at their own pace.
The staff at Black In Nature plan and provide exceptional care to the children enrolled in our programs, providing them with guidance as they explore the natural world around them. They come with backgrounds in STEM and with extensive experience working with children of all ages.
Our staff are experienced, playful and intuitive facilitators & educators. We are proud to offer bilingual programming and a welcoming and inclusive space for Black children.

Our Summer Camp is a joyful outdoor experience where Black children and youth can explore, play, and connect with the Land in a space rooted in belonging and community.
Throughout the week, learners take part in nature exploration, shelter building, outdoor cooking, creative play, and nature-based learning. Days are guided by curiosity and child-led adventure, allowing children to move at their own pace while building confidence, friendships, and a deeper relationship with nature.
Our camp creates a welcoming space where children can show up fully as themselves, laughing, discovering, and experiencing the freedom of being outdoors together.

Our Black in Nature Overnight Camp offers children and youth the opportunity to deepen their connection with the Land while experiencing the adventure of camping together in community.
Over the course of the camp, participants spend their days exploring forests and trails, cooking outdoors, learning camp skills, and engaging in creative play and storytelling. As the day winds down, evenings are spent gathered around the fire sharing laughter, songs, and stories beneath the night sky.
For many campers, this is their first overnight experience in nature. With the support of caring facilitators, children build confidence, independence, and meaningful friendships while learning to feel at home outdoors.
